Morning Horizon- Chapter 3.
Mom pulled the car up next to the drive, in front of an average looking house. It was regularly sized, standing at the same height of any house you saw in the quiet neighborhood. The house was a very faint light yellow, not a pure white like the house next to it. At the front of the house, was a front yard, with a small drive, and a path leading to the small porch. The windows of the house had pale blue shutters, including the four at the front, and the door was a pale brown.
Mom and I got out the car, and walked along the path towards the porch.
As we were walking, I turned my head towards the house next to my grandmothers. As I had said, it was pure white and pretty regular. There were no shutters though on the windows, and the windows were different in size, a little. I blinked, and the house suddenly became familiar to me.

We kept driving, even though we were already in Washington, possibly near Seattle. I was wondering if grandma's house was here, anywhere near, but mom didn't seem to surprise me with a sudden turn, like I'd expect her to. It had been a long journey from Chicago. We'd left Illinois at nine, and it was already three thirty in the afternoon. I was a little tired, and restless, from sitting in a car for six hours. But yet, I still had no idea where we were going... and I suddenly wondered if mom knew.
" Mom... do you know where we're going?" I asked her with worry.
She laughed. " Of course I do! I've been to your grandmother's house many times before... like sometimes when you go to your dad's house." "Your gran likes the company, see..." She stated.
I nodded once... as my mom grinned sheepishly to herself, switching on the small built in stereo, and began to hum along with the song...
